Portovenere is a town located conveniently on the cliff of the mount. It was favorite place of Byron. Portovenere is very similar to the nearest towns of Cinque Terre by its colorful houses and picturesque port, but differs from them in its sights.
There are the St. Peter's Church located on the cliff edge, the medieval castle Doria, remains of old mills, the beautiful St. Lorenzo`s Church and the nearby island Palmaria with numerous landscaped paths and mysterious caves.
Lerici is a fantastic town in the province of La Spezia (La Spezia), located in one of the bays of the romantic Gulf of Poets (Golfo dei Poeti). The city administration provides for wedding in Lerici two castles (built in the 12th and in the beginning of the 15th centuries) and an ancient chapel.
Erice (Erice) is a small town in the western part of Sicily located on the top of the mountain . It seems to be floating , soaring in the clouds, at an altitude of 750 meters above sea level. According to legend, Eryx (Erice), son of the goddess of love and fertility Venus, built on top of the mountain majestic temple in honor of his mother, and thus founded the city , which was named after him. In the XII century the castle surrounded by high walls was built on the place of the temple . It also was named in honor of the goddess of love - Venus. Nowadays, the castle is owned by municipality of Erice and it is the venue for wedding ceremonies on the sea.
