Amalfi
In the past Amalfi was the main town of Norman duchy, the main link between East and West. Nowadays Amalfi is prestigious resort and one of the central towns of Amalfi Coast. There is an interesting legend about origin of the name of the town. According to the legend, Amalfi was the mermaid and the Hercules’s beloved wife. When she died, Hercules buried her on the land, which was consecrated by the Gods, and this place was named in her honor- Amalfi.
Nowadays couples in love choose this consecrating by the Gods land as place for performing their wedding day.
The civil wedding ceremony in Amalfi could be performed in two locations: in the Town hall or in the Old Arsenal. The last one is very suggestive place. The imposing structure of stone and mortar, which has defied centuries; the light charm of the cross vault giving the right touch of elegance; the modular rhythm of solids and voids making sure that the fateful "YES" bouncing on the stones of the pillars and branches into a prolonged echo, which does not escape even more distracted ears – all these facts make the Old Arsenal of the Republic of Amalfi a unique place for your wedding.
After the ceremony, with the only step, you will leave behind the centuries of history, and to dive into the sea and the colours of Amalfi, admired in two, of course, will multiply its beauty.
